i used to think that all stars were big, yellow, shiny and has 5 ends.

i laugh now at my naiviety..

stars weren't yellow,

neither do they have 5 ends.

this fascination with stars prompted me to ask a friend of mine..

why do stars shine so brightly in the night sky?

why do they sparkle and blink at me?

he told me stars were actually like the sun.

they sparkle and blink cos' of the refraction light goes through before reaching our eyes on earth.

and so i found out the truth.

but somehow, i sought comfort thinking of stars the way they appear in fairytales.

big. yellow. shiny. 5 hands.

stars in such form represent happiness, hope and new beginnings.

i love the stars.

in such childish and innocent form.

i'd rather ignore the true, hard facts of science..

cos' it's only in this form,

do i truly seek comfort.

pure innocence and simple happiness.
